It’s Possible

..destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction. Joshua 7:12

You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove it. Joshua 7:13

We can see the thoughts of God clearly in these Scripture verses. There is something in your midst that eats you up. It keeps you occupied. Your focus shifts and it aims at your well-being and harmony. It targets your growth. It can only bring you down but never build you up. God says destroy whatever among you that is devoted to destruction. Put an end to it.

The Day I saw light

A beautiful young lady in her 20s told a delightful story. She was blessed with beautiful children. Her house was never lacking in anything good. She had all that she dreamed of. She could desire of anything and things came to be. Anyone would say she was a lucky woman. Her relatives and people around her too never lacked anything because they acquired from her.

She could hear everything about things taken from her. Although they were few sincere souls around her, they were others who mocked her and rob her of her good things. That’s when she was starting to feel troubled. Her only weakness, she was blind and helpless. She came running to a place where she knows God speaks. She went to a church. She cried out to God for help. She then went back home with relief, hoping God will soon answer her prayer.

She did not stop praying, asking God for help in her weakness. Her eyes were both blind and she could hear people steal good things from her. She herself could not treasure it. She was thankful to God for His blessings for her life but she wanted to see them.

Days passed, one day early morning as she turned sideways on her bed, she saw ray of sunshine. She was overjoyed. Finally, it was happening. She was starting to see light. With faith, she holds on to the truth that God exists and He rewards those who diligently seek him… As said in the Bible in Hebrews 11:6

Mom of truth and faith

I met a lovely mom who took pride in not having worked hard all her life. Hers was a life of a princess. Adorned, adored and led a rich sensual life. She was a happy young lady in her 20s back then. She would have all that she wanted in a matter of few minutes. Her self-indulgent nature knew no limits. Day and night, she splurged to treat and give herself full happiness. Days went on and on. One day she realised she had lost something that she treasured. Her son had fallen terribly ill and waiting to die. She thought to herself her chance of enjoying tomorrow is all gone.

She roamed on the streets. She tried to believe her real-life situation. Again, taking the same road going back and forth. A church close by, caught her attention. She peeked in but saw no one. These bold words of life were written on the wall and still speaks today “With God, all these are possible”.

No one could give her such hope and courage. She suddenly felt a surge of faith in her heart that a certain God is there and nothing is impossible with him. She believed that this God will help her and heal her son completely. Her son had been lying sick with no food for 7 days. She went home to see her son with hope from these words although there was no money to buy medicine. To her surprise, her son got up from his bed of suffering and asked for a cup of milk. Indeed, that great God had cured him of his sickness as soon as the mother put her faith in God and Lord Jesus Christ. Mom’s faith in God made her son well.
